HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARLEY, MEET THE FAAKERS & WELCOME TRIUMPH!

Mustang Goes Global

They say there is no restHD 110 for the wicked, but Mustang is definitely on a wickedly crazy schedule! Even before we could get properly unpacked from Sturgis and the Parts Unlimited NVP, it was time to hit the road to Milwaukee to help our friends at Harley-Davidson® celebrate their 110th anniversary (and we thought being around since 1980 made Mustang old). Somehow we will have to be three places at once for the next week or so.

JP_EBW_Logo_smWhile John Glynn was taking our big rig to House Of Harley in Milwaukee where he and his crew will be through September 2nd, another herd of Mustang people was flying over Iceland on the way to European Bike Week held at Faaker See in Austria. Attending this show is a first for Mustang, but it is said to be the biggest bike rally in Europe and on par with Daytona Bike Week in terms of importance. Look for a full report later.

Faak_MapAs if that weren’t enough, more Mustang types were busy rolling out our new range of seats for Triumph Bonneville and Thunderbird models. Think of it as New England handcraftsmanship meets Olde English styling. The crazy travel schedule notwithstanding, the worldwide launch of our new seats for Triumphs is probably the most ambitious project we have tackled in awhile. However Gary and the guys in R&D really came up with something special!

Looking as if it could have come from legendary Triumph designer Edward Turner himself, Mustang’s Classic Seat for the Bonneville variants (T100, Scrambler and Thruxton) updates period correct styling with modern materials. The result is a saddle that looks the part, but feels even better!

Meanwhile our popular DayTripper™ and Tripper Fastback™ seats are now available for Triumph’s1600cc Thunderbird cruisers. If a one-piece Tripper isn’t your cup of tea, we are offering our two-piece touring seat for the Thunderbird as well. No matter which style you opt for, it’s what is inside that counts. Our proprietary padding is the perfect combination of open- and closed-cell foam — but you already knew that! Honestly, we can’t wait for Triumph riders to “discover what a difference comfort makes” to coin a phrase.

More styles and model Bonneville_softshadow2applications are coming soon… and we have some other surprises in store for you. But you are going to have to wait until after the 110th and European Bike Week wrap up and we have recovered from the jetlag to learn more about what else we have hidden back in the Three Rivers, Mass. R&D center.

MMP_Ldr1220612-art1We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! Eric, Kyle and the crew at Cruiser Customizing have done a phenomenal job of researching and compiling the ultimate Mustang Seat buyer’s guide, complete with testimonials from happy customers. Everything you ever wanted to know about Mustang seats and how to determine which is the right seat for you can be found here:

CCAs the motorcycle rally season has hit high gear this summer, Cruiser Customizing Inc. has been busy serving up related buyer’s guides. These buying guides outline the most popular motorcycle parts and accessories for customizing your Harley, Metric Cruiser or Gold Wing, along with tips on how to install key components and get the look you want.

Made in the USA and in the business for more than 30 years, it’s only natural that Mustang Seats would be one of the first brands to garner a top spot in the Cruiser Customizing Buying Guide section. With riders across the country gearing up for their summer adventures, Mustang offers motorcyclists a wide gamut of seats that are ideal for the long haul. Ultimately, “It’s All About the Ride!” as we like to say around here and bikers are looking for ways to increase comfort and function on the road, while still looking cool.

Cruiser Customizing Inc. (CC) is an e-commerce website that has been in the motorcycle business for 12 years now. Its main focus is aftermarket customization — that is to say, what happens when you ride your bike off the dealership lot, and really begin to infuse your own style and standard of comfort. CC helps motorcyclists treat their baby right, and create the ultimate machine for any biker who wants to upgrade and style their OEM parts.

Mustang Seats has made this easier than ever — take the built-in, removable driver backrest, for example. This style of seat allows motorcyclists to choose their riding style each time they mount their bike. It’s also adjustable, and allows for full back support, no matter where your destination lies. CC highlights these key specs to give bikers smart buying options, and get the best experience possible on the road.

As you may know, Mustang Seats recently teamed up with Roland Sands Design (RSD) to manufacture aftermarket seats. Watch CC’s visit with Roland Sands himself, as they discuss why Mustang was the best option for his personal designs. Also featured in the guide is a step-by-step video that shows the production of a seat in our Massachusetts factory, a quick recap of all the new changes for 2013, and hints at an exciting new program that will allow bikers to customize their seat before it even hits the production line.
