Trades Tab Two Top Trenders

MPNBestOfTheWebMustang gets some love: Cupid was doing double duty this year as a couple of the top trade publications recognized Mustang’s new product development efforts just in time for Valentine’s Day. A tip of the helmet visor to Dan Rice and the R&D team for both Harley-Davidson® Street 750/500 Fastback seat and the Tripper Fastback for the Yamaha Bolt as these two seats were picked to click by Motorcycle & Powersports News and PowerSports Business, respectively.

MPN-2015MMPawardFirst Motorcycie & Powersports News announced the Tripper Fastback was a “Best Of The Web” award winner in its January issue. MPN editor Brendan Baker presented Mustang’s sales manager Jesse Sargent with the award in person at the V-Twin Expo, a trade-only event in Cincinnati back on February 7th. “These awards are determined by the dealers themselves,” Brendan explained during the presentation. “We tabulated the number of views each product received over the course of an entire year, and Mustang’s Tripper Seat for the Bolt was #4 overall.” That is pretty impressive and a true testament to the buzz that Yamaha created with the new Bolt.

PSBNifty50The following weekend, on Valentine’s Day no less, PSB announced their picks for the annual “Nifty 50” awards. For the past 16 years, editors from PSB and its sister consumer publications (including Rider magazine) has elected 50 products and services they believe will help boost dealership profits. IMG_9017smTo be eligible, products must be new or substantially improved from previous years. These products must also be ready for delivery in calendar year 2015. As the first to market with a replacement seat for Harley’s new Street 750/500 motorcycles, Mustang is honored to have made the PSB pick.

Our venerable Fastback design literally had to be recreated from scratch to match the first new motorcycle platform The Motor Company has introduced in more than a decade. Talk about a match made in Harley heaven, this new seat offers our most popular style for an all-new bike. About the only thing we didn’t bring to the wedding party was something blue… At least not yet! There might be some options added to custom seat program later this year.

In the meantime, we are honored to feel the love from the dealers and industry insiders. But this is only the beginning of some big things Mustang has in mind to help celebrate our big 35th Anniversary this year. Stay tuned!

MUSTANG FALLS IN LOVE WITH ITALY!

2015 Motor Bike Expo In Verona

GirlVeronaVerona is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy… and in literary circles it is also the setting for the star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. In the motorcycle world, Verona is better known for the passionate fans who flock to the Motor Bike Expo. After sitting out the big trade show in Milan in 2014, Mustang is back in the International show saddle in 2015, starting the new year off in Italy.

Mustang was on hand to support our European fans by booking booth space at the 2015 Motor Bike Expo at the Veronafiere complex January 23-25. The highlight of the show for us was the world MustangVeronalaunch of a line-up of seats for the new Harley-Davidson® Street 750 & 500 models, but we really appreciated the time spent with the people at the show. More than 160,000 rabid motorcyclists surrounded 560+ exhibitors and filled the 67,000 sq. meter indoor area. There was also another 20,000+ meters of outdoor entertainment areas, so it would be an understatement to say this show was rocking!

JodySkunkMustang was located directly adjacent to our New England neighbors from Perewitz (what are the odds of traveling 3,000 miles and ending up in adjoining booths?)… although Dave couldn’t make it, Jody seemed to be having a great time, but we were not sure what she was doing with a live skunk in the booth one day! We were also located between two of Mustang’s leading European distributors, Parts Europe and Motorcycle Storehouse. Indian and Victory motorcycles, as well as the gang from the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis were also at the Motor Bike Expo, so we were definitely in good company.

The food, the people and the passion for motorcycles… what’s not to like? We’re thinking that Montagues and the Capulets would have been better off with riding motorcycles and hanging out at the Motor Bike Expo than feuding over petty matters.
