Announcing Online Ordering for Mustang Dealers

Thanks to the efforts of a highly skilled team of designers, engineers, consultants and testers, we are pleased to announce the new Mustang Dealer website. More than a year in planning and development, the new dealer website brings features and capabilities with one goal in mind: making sure Mustang dealers get what they need with a minimum of hassle.

Let’s take a tour!

If you’re a dealer and you go to www.MustangDealer.com or click on the Dealer Login link at the top of www.MustangSeats.com, you’ll be taken to the Dealer Login page. In the past, dealers had to use a number and a zip code to access the old dealer web site. That’s changed and now dealers can use the e-mail address that has been set up with their account. The new site is integrated with our in-house customer management and ordering software, and all the primary e-mail addresses have been set up as logins to the site. No password? No problem! Simply click on the “Lost or need password” link to create a unique password specific to the dealer account. Submit the e-mail address and a return message will contain a link to a secure page to order for you to create a new password.

Order Pad

Once you’ve logged in, you’ll land on the Order Pad page. This unique feature allows for rapid entry of products by part number directly into your shopping cart. Dealers who know what they want can quickly add and order without having to navigate the more traditional online store.

Order by Bike

Driven by a database that’s integrated with our in-house CRM/Ordering software, we incorporated a search tool that allows you to find all the seats and seat accessories for a specific make, model and year of bike. This tool not only guides dealers to the right product for each customer’s bike, but it creates cross-selling opportunities by showing complementary seat accessories such as sissy bar pads and saddlebags.

Search by Category

This is the more traditional online shop. All of Mustang’s products have been bucketed into appropriate categories for ease of navigation. Want to browse seats? Go to seats. Need saddlebags? Go to Saddlebags and Luggage. Just interested in Biker Essentials® lifestyle merchandise? No worries — there’s a whole section for you. Just click on Biker Essentials in the Category list or in the navigation bar at the top of the site.

Other Features

Like we said, the dealer site is integrated with our CRM/ordering software. This allows Mustang to tie our dealer-specific pricing to the pricing on the web site. Additionally, dealers can make a request change or update their account information right online. Order-tracking information is available online.

Staying up to date on our new-product announcements is as easy as joining our e-mailing list powered by Constant Contact®. Click on the link on the bottom of the web page to register.

    watch out on order pad, it times out. I entered most of order, dealt with a customer, returned to pad and lost everything added to it. never mind it’s all good practice.

    Thank you for your comments. It has been a pleasure putting together a site that our dealers would find useful, whether it is for product information, Mustang news, or for online ordering.

    The new site has been in development for many, many months prior to its launch. As with all new web sites sometimes there are small issues. We are aware of the order pad timeout issue and our development is working to resolve it as soon as possible.

    absolute great to order online. Is there a way to save items on the cart? Had power failure and had entered 70 essenials and lost all when the power was repaired. We are new dealers to mustang and looking forward to having a great relationship. Keep up the good work.

    Hello Jimmy,
    Sorry to here about your difficulty. There are a couple of variables that impacted your particular issue, but for the benefit others reading this blog and who may have similar questions, I will explain further.

    Because the web site is integrated with our in-house CRM program ALL sessions eventually timeout and are disconnected, even for us here at Mustang. So if the power outage duration exceeded the session limit, then unfortunately from your perspective the order is lost.

    The web site does generate a cookie when you login and will store your shopping cart for the duration of the session. If you close your browser it may or may not store cookies, depending on its cookie settings, in which case your shopping cart may or may not be saved.

    Now as I alluded to, from your perspective the order may be lost. However we actually capture what we call “abandoned” orders. Let me follow up with the rest of the development team and see if there is a way to convert those abandoned orders to live orders, and I will post a follow up.

    Hi my name is Keith I sell for Hamburg Honda in Hamburg, N.Y.. I have helped many riders find a Mustang seat, with great feedback. In the fall of 09 I road my bike to Florida for a total 1,235 miles by the end of the first day my rearend was so sore I dreaded the rest of the 3 day trip. I left my bike in Florida and flew back to Buffalo, N.Y.. When I told my buddy at the shop about my pain they told me to get a Mustang Seat,I called and ordered my seat. When it arrived at the store we shipped it directly to Florida so it was waiting for me I installed the seat changed the oil and doun road i go. I made the trip back to Buffalo in 2 days with no pain. Thanks Mustang, I will be ordering a saet for my orther bike soon.
