Mustang Goes Global

They say there is no restHD 110 for the wicked, but Mustang is definitely on a wickedly crazy schedule! Even before we could get properly unpacked from Sturgis and the Parts Unlimited NVP, it was time to hit the road to Milwaukee to help our friends at Harley-Davidson® celebrate their 110th anniversary (and we thought being around since 1980 made Mustang old). Somehow we will have to be three places at once for the next week or so.

JP_EBW_Logo_smWhile John Glynn was taking our big rig to House Of Harley in Milwaukee where he and his crew will be through September 2nd, another herd of Mustang people was flying over Iceland on the way to European Bike Week held at Faaker See in Austria. Attending this show is a first for Mustang, but it is said to be the biggest bike rally in Europe and on par with Daytona Bike Week in terms of importance. Look for a full report later.

Faak_MapAs if that weren’t enough, more Mustang types were busy rolling out our new range of seats for Triumph Bonneville and Thunderbird models. Think of it as New England handcraftsmanship meets Olde English styling. The crazy travel schedule notwithstanding, the worldwide launch of our new seats for Triumphs is probably the most ambitious project we have tackled in awhile. However Gary and the guys in R&D really came up with something special!

Looking as if it could have come from legendary Triumph designer Edward Turner himself, Mustang’s Classic Seat for the Bonneville variants (T100, Scrambler and Thruxton) updates period correct styling with modern materials. The result is a saddle that looks the part, but feels even better!

Meanwhile our popular DayTripper™ and Tripper Fastback™ seats are now available for Triumph’s1600cc Thunderbird cruisers. If a one-piece Tripper isn’t your cup of tea, we are offering our two-piece touring seat for the Thunderbird as well. No matter which style you opt for, it’s what is inside that counts. Our proprietary padding is the perfect combination of open- and closed-cell foam — but you already knew that! Honestly, we can’t wait for Triumph riders to “discover what a difference comfort makes” to coin a phrase.

More styles and model Bonneville_softshadow2applications are coming soon… and we have some other surprises in store for you. But you are going to have to wait until after the 110th and European Bike Week wrap up and we have recovered from the jetlag to learn more about what else we have hidden back in the Three Rivers, Mass. R&D center.
