Getting Caught In The Spyder’s Web

Screen Shot 2015-10-05 at 3.43.22 PMDid you know that more than 100,000 Can-Am Spyders have hit the highways and byways of North America in the past seven years? If you didn’t realize there were that many Spyders out there, you probably didn’t catch the fact that Mustang now has replacement seats for the interesting three-wheeled machines either. However if you are one of the growing legion of fans who have been caught in the Spyder’s web, we invite you to discover the Mustang difference!

Can-Am-Spyder-F3-S-Sturgis-Looking like a cross between a snow machine and a touring bike, the Spyder is creating a new niche for itself. According to our friends at BRP/Can-Am, the majority of the Spyders out there are being used for long-distance rides and touring. We saw plenty of them headed to Sturgis this year and Can-Am even had the “Spyder Experience” area downtown just off Lazelle Street so folks who were at the Black Hills classic could see what they have been missing.

Can-Am says that when you ride a Spyder “the destination becomes the ride itself; a one-of-kind experience in open-air riding.” We like the way they think! In fact, we would like to further enhance this unique riding experience with a new seat made specifically for the Spyder RT touring model.

MMP15_PR-Spyder-FloaterAdd to your Spyder’s comfort and character with Mustang’s touring seat designed specifically for the RT model. The new seat’s detailed gun metal stitching and carbon fiber vinyl accents enhance the Spyder’s striking design, while retaining all the positive features of the stock seat. Looking good is only part of the overall experience, though. Since form follows function, it is what is inside the striking seat cover that counts.

76196_72Mustang’s marine-grade baseplate and proprietary foam are carefully contoured to support both rider and passenger in the optimal cruising angle for all-day riding. The 16.5″ seat width (passenger width: 17.5″) is based on Mustang’s 35-years of expertise in designing touring saddles.

Spyder BackrestComplete the custom look and enhance comfort with matching backrests. The fully-adjustable driver backrest features an 11″ wide pad that tapers to 7″ at the base. This provides solid back support for the longest rides. Since touring is more fun two-up, make sure to get Mustang’s trunk-mounted passenger backrest for the Spyder RT.

The destination may be the ride, but the overall experience is even better when the pilot and the passenger are comfortable! Discover the Mustang difference and enhance your riding comfort! Get more details at the Mustang Seats website:

Retro Metal Flake Seats Shine At Sturgis!

25 Jul

MMP14_LB_Sturgis Retro-v1There may be nothing new under the sun as the pundits claim, but that is exactly where the latest seats from Mustang look their best! We are introducing a galaxy of metal flake seats to match the retro color schemes found on the Harley-Davidson Hard Candy Custom™ models. Next week during the Sturgis Rally, Black Hills Harley-Davidson will be the center of the universe for Mustang’s newest custom seat option — Rally goers will see everything from “Deep Space Blue” to “Vortex Green” and even a special surprise retro color scheme!

MMP72_72greenFlake1[1]Part of the extensive custom seat program we introduced last fall, customer demand for metal flake has added even more options when it comes to creating your own seat. Our selection of different stitch patterns, thread colors and now metal flake inserts to choose from makes it possible for anyone to create a truly one-of-a-kind seat.

MMP14_CustomCandy 2Of course Mustang’s staff claims they are all too young to remember when metal flake was first popular, but Mustang is old school. In fact, we have been manufacturing the world’s most comfortable motorcycle seats in our historic New England factory since 1984. With countless combinations of stitching options, 12 contrasting thread colors and now 8 metal flake panels, our custom seat option is available for three of our most popular seat sales for starters: Tripper™ Solo, Tripper Fastback™ and DayTripper™ — but more seats and colors are coming.

Seeing is believing, but these out of this world colors have to be seen in the light of day rather than on a computer screen to really do them justice. We wanted something really special to share with our friends from Black Hills Harley, since they have been such great hosts during the Sturgis Rally. This will be the first place to see the rainbow of retro metal flake colors actually sewn into the seats and mounted on a motorcycle.

Check them out at http://www.mustangseats.com/custom/75625 — but you will have to stop by the Mustang truck at Black Hills Harley-Davidson to see the exclusive unveiling of their “Cosmic Purple” colorway and some other surprises during the Sturgis Rally.

MUSTANG IS BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN!

4 Apr

gene autryMost of you are probably too young to remember Gene Autry as more than the former owner of the California Angels Baseball Club. However, there was a time when “The Signing Cowboy” had hit records and was a bonafide Hollywood movie star. His signature song was “Back In The Saddle Again” — so with a tip of the Stetson to Mr. Autry, Mustang is happy to announce we are back in the saddle again for the 2014 Rally season.

The big news is our return to Americade this summer. After kicking off with Bike Week in Daytona, the Mustang big rig is currently criss-crossing the country. From Arizona Bike Week to Sturgis and Laconia and back to Daytona for Bikertoberfest in the fall, our Rallymeister John Glynn will be hitting all the big events as well as making detours for dealer events and other last-minute additions to the schedule.

BlkTruckObviously we can’t be at every single event this summer… but that didn’t stop us from trying to schedule as many as we possibly could. Because we believe the best way to introduce new products is face-to-face at the rallies, it is important for Mustang to “ride the range” all summer long. We have some new saddles to show off, starting with the Dave Perewitz Signature Series coming for our friends who are partial to Harley FLs… or ‘Baggahs’ as Dave calls them.

There are also seats for another OEM coming that are a departure from our normal offerings. We can’t tell you who they are yet, but their initials are B.M.W. — stay tuned for more details! In the meantime, don’t forget that Mustang offers free installation at all the rallies and we even ship your old seat back for you. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Happy Trails To You… oops, wrong cowboy crooner. See Mustang’s entire 2014 rally schedule here: http://www.mustangseats.com/Mustang/Rallies-Events
